What’s posted

The Town's Planning site has a dedicated 'Pre-Approved ADU Plans' page posting four town-developed preapproved plans, free to Paradise residents: Studio 499 sq ft, 1-Bedroom 499 sq ft, 1-or-2-Bedroom 667 sq ft, and 2-Bedroom 733 sq ft, designed by Design Path Studio Architecture and Planning under a state Wildfire Resiliency and Recovery Planning Grant.

townofparadise.com 301-redirects to paradiseca.gov. No mention on the page of accepting third-party plan submissions - the posted set is the town's own (which satisfies sec 65852.27(a)(5) for posting, though the statute also requires accepting outside submissions; that half is unverified). Stamped plans are delivered on USB at permit issuance. Adversarially re-verified 2026-07-30: page independently re-fetched, all four plan options rendered as clickable entries with images (Studio 499, 1bd 499, 1-or-2bd 667, 2bd 733 sq ft, Design Path Studio, free to residents) plus downloadable ADU Guidebook and Preapproved ADU Checklist; full construction sets are USB-at-permit, not direct downloads.

Any other agency can adopt these plans

Cal. Gov. Code § 65852.27, added by Stats. 2023, ch. 759, amended by Stats. 2024, ch. 7 (SB 477) (§ 65852.27(a)(5)) lets any California local agency admit into its own program plans “A local agency may also admit the following accessory dwelling unit plans into the program: (A) Plans that have been developed and preapproved by the local agency. (B) Plans that have been preapproved by other agencies within the state.” A city or county without a preapproval program of its own can post Town of Paradise’s plans as part of its own program instead of designing new ones — see the full statewide catalog for more options.

We build and maintain the program page, the plan library and the required third-party submission path for agencies that want to stand this up: $1,950 setup + $3,600/year (year one all-in $5,550).
