California’s AB 1332 compliance scan verified 119 cities and counties that post free, downloadable preapproved ADU plans — 513 plans in all. Every plan set listed here is currently posted on the agency’s own website, with the evidence link.

Any agency can adopt these plans today
Cal. Gov. Code § 65852.27, added by Stats. 2023, ch. 759, amended by Stats. 2024, ch. 7 (SB 477) does more than require a program: § 65852.27(a)(5) lets any local agency admit plans into its own program that were “A local agency may also admit the following accessory dwelling unit plans into the program: (A) Plans that have been developed and preapproved by the local agency. (B) Plans that have been preapproved by other agencies within the state.” A city or county with no preapproval program of its own does not have to design one from scratch — it can post plans already preapproved by any of the 119 agencies below, along with the required third-party submission path and applicant contact posting, and be compliant faster than a from-scratch program would take to build.

This catalog is drawn from the same fixed-seed random-sample scan behind the AB 1332 tracker — 540 of the 540 covered agencies checked so far, 2026-08-07T09:00:00.000Z. An agency appears here only if the scan scored it “posted”: a program page with plans that are free, downloadable or otherwise directly accessible, and provided or reviewed by the agency itself. Every posted call was independently re-verified by a second fetch of the actual plan document or page before publication — see each agency’s own page for its evidence link and notes. Agencies not yet scanned, or scanned and scored partial, none-found, or unverified, are not listed here; see the full tracker for those.
